Scripture: Mark 9:24 – “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, ‘I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!’”
Doubt is an experience common to all believers. Even the most steadfast followers of Christ face moments where their faith wavers. In Mark 9:24, a desperate father brings his son to Jesus for healing. When Jesus questions his faith, the father responds with a heartfelt plea, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!” This verse encapsulates the paradox many Christians face: a belief in God coupled with a struggle against doubt.
Doubt does not disqualify us from God’s grace or His love. Instead, it can be an opportunity for growth. When we acknowledge our doubts and bring them to God, we open the door for Him to strengthen our faith. This honest admission, as shown by the father in Mark, invites Jesus into our struggles and allows His power to work within us.
